Canine superheroes have been commended at an animal hall of fame event that seeks to give recognition to animals who are non professional but have done something incredible on behalf of people.
The Hero recognition is given to a non-professional animal that has saved a human life. Bogie is a 9-year-old, male Australian shepherd and is owned by Barbara Balkema of Snohomish.
Bogie’s induction recognizes a life saving act where he led his owner to safety after she experienced “mini-strokes” while working on her farm.
Bogie located his owner and assisted her to the house so she could summon help. When the emergency medical technicians arrived, Bogie barked to announce their arrival and lead them to his owner. Full article Dog heroes rewarded in animal hall of fame
“I do love it when the world gives praise to our dogs”.
I guess you know dog heroes come in all shapes and sizes, just like humans. It takes a particular kind of nerve to do something heroic when others around you do not have the courage, or the intelligence. Reward is merit and dog heroes are worth the praise.
Do you have a dog hero, or do you know of a dog with heroic actions?
I’d love to share your story with fellow dog owners. Inspiration is a great tonic for remembering the brave, whether human, dog, or both. Leave a comment, share your story. More dog heroes here
