DNA Test Shows Your Dog’s Breed Mixture

Are you curious about the breed of your dog? Even if it’s technically a mutt, you can determine your buddy’s breed.

If you’re like many who adopt animals from shelters or, perhaps take in a rescue dog, often times the breed of dog is unknown.

A new DNA test now gives dog owners the piece of the puzzle they’ve been missing. It’s called the Canine Heritage Test and it can identify the makeup of specifically-mixed breeds of dogs

Quick and painless, the test is pretty easy to administer.

It requires only a simple cheek swab of your pooch. It’s mailed to a lab in avis with the results coming back to the owner in about four weeks along with a certificate of DNA breed analysis.

The “Swabathon” is taking place at eight Petco locations throughout Sacramento and costs $70.

But for many pet owners, that’s a small price to pay to gain insight into the canine history of their pooch dog. Full story: DNA test shows your dog’s breed mixture
